On Saturday, November 8, 2025, Ottawa will welcome the inaugural CLIMAX Conference, a one-day event dedicated to sexual wellness, pleasure, and connection for curious adults. Held at the Preston Event Centre, CLIMAX introduces a new kind of space for sexual health conversations.
A First-Time Conference with Big Ambition
CLIMAX brings together leading educators, clinicians, creators, activists, and sex-positive brands to celebrate intimacy and sexual empowerment without shame. Premier sponsors include We-Vibe and Make Love Not Porn, with MLNP creator Maple Syrup appearing as both a performer and speaker, leading a talk on ethical, authentic, real-world porn and how it contrasts with mainstream narratives.
Mission: Visibility, Education & Escape
Many sex-focused events lean toward either shock value and spectacle, or purely academic discourse that feels disconnected from real life. CLIMAX bridges that gap. The conference blends evidence-based education with creativity, embodiment, and play. Attendees can expect dynamic talks, interactive sessions, a curated marketplace, sex-positive performances, and space to explore pleasure in a thoughtful, community-focused environment. CLIMAX aims to inspire — and give people practical tools to take into their lives, work, and relationships.
Featured Voices & Expert Lineup
A featured speaker is Danielle Bezalel, MPH (she/her) — host of the acclaimed podcast Sex Ed with DB and a featured voice in Netflix’s The Principles of Pleasure. With a Master of Public Health from Columbia University and deep expertise in sexual and reproductive health, she will lead “Building a Profitable Online Sexual Health Brand”, a session designed for educators and creators seeking to transform passion into purposeful, sustainable work.
Other notable speakers and performers include celebrated kink educator Luna Matatas, sex-positive podcaster Tim Lagman, and an inspiring roster of clinicians, artists, and community voices representing diverse identities, experiences, and approaches to sexual empowerment.
Why This Matters Now
Conversations about sexual wellness, identity, pleasure, and embodiment are increasingly recognized as essential to overall wellbeing. CLIMAX emerges at a moment when communities are asking for safer, smarter, more inclusive dialogue — beyond stigma, beyond sensationalism, and beyond binaries of clinical vs. taboo. Whether attendees are entrepreneurs, educators, creatives, clinicians, or simply curious and seeking personal growth, they will leave not only inspired but resourced and supported.
